Pipeline Isolation Solutions for Industrial Operations
In industrial infrastructure, controlling fluid direction safely and efficiently is a core requirement. The Industrial Gate Valve is widely applied in systems where full flow isolation is required rather than flow regulation.
In oil and gas pipelines, gate valves are commonly installed at transmission lines operating under pressures between PN16 to PN100 or higher in offshore systems. These valves ensure tight shut-off capability, minimizing leakage risk in hydrocarbon transport.
Water treatment plants also rely heavily on gate valves for main pipeline isolation. In these environments, typical operating temperatures range from 0°C to 80°C, and valve diameters often exceed DN300, allowing high-volume water transfer with minimal resistance.
A key advantage of the Industrial Gate Valve is its straight-through design. When fully open, the flow channel is almost identical to pipe diameter, resulting in low turbulence and reduced energy loss. This makes it suitable for slurry and wastewater applications where sediment passage is required.
Material selection is critical. Stainless steel gate valves are used in corrosive environments containing chlorides, while cast iron versions are common in municipal water systems. Sealing systems may include flexible wedge structures to compensate for thermal expansion in pipelines.
Operational cycles are relatively slow compared to quarter-turn valves. A large diameter valve (DN600 and above) may require multiple rotations of the handwheel, sometimes exceeding 25–40 turns for full operation.
Industrial Gate Valves are also widely integrated into fire protection systems, where fast shut-off reliability and high-pressure resistance are required.
